Hello!
I’m Spiro, an illustrator.
In this article, I’ll walk you through the step-by-step workflow of how commissions are handled when you work with me.
I currently offer two types of commission plans:
Standard Plan
Surprise Me Plan (Skeb-style Commission)
For full details, please check the Commissions page.

First, let’s take a quick look at the differences between these two options.

The Standard Plan is designed for clients who value detailed communication and careful review, while the Surprise Me Plan (Skeb-style Commission) focuses on ease and fast turnaround.
Standard Plan Workflow (Detailed Process)
1. Consultation & Quote
When I receive an inquiry, I first discuss the project details with the client.
I will propose the price, production start date, and delivery schedule.
Once the client agrees to the terms, payment is required in advance before production begins.
If the client has specific requests regarding budget or deadlines, I will try to accommodate them whenever possible.
For example:
- Adjusting the scope of the illustration to fit a smaller budget
- Offering rush delivery with an additional rush fee

2. Rough Sketch
I will submit a rough sketch first. At this stage, basic coloring is already included so the client can clearly visualize the final result.
The client reviews the sketch and may request revisions at this stage.
Once the rough sketch is approved, I proceed to the final rendering phase.

3. Progress Updates (WIP Reports)
Creating the final artwork takes time, especially during the coloring stage, which requires the most effort and production cost.
To ensure the client feels confident throughout the process, I provide periodic work-in-progress (WIP) updates.
4. Final Delivery
I deliver the completed artwork for final confirmation.
In principle, major revisions are not included at this stage; however, minor adjustments may be possible depending on the situation.
Of course, any corrections required due to my own mistakes will be fixed free of charge.

5. Portfolio Publication
After delivery, once I confirm that the client has started using the artwork, I may publish the work on my social media or portfolio website as part of my portfolio.
Proper credit will always be given to the client whenever applicable.

Surprise Me Plan (Skeb-style Commission) Workflow
In the Surprise Me Plan, the production workflow is simplified.
The process includes only the following steps:
1. Consultation & Quote
4. Final Delivery
5. Portfolio Publication
Rough sketch approval and progress updates (Steps 2 and 3) are not included.
Please note that this plan does not include a final confirmation before delivery, and revisions are not available after completion unless corrections are required due to my own mistake.
As a result, this plan offers:
- A lower price compared to the Standard Plan
- Minimal message exchanges during production
- The fun of receiving the finished artwork as a surprise
This option is especially popular with clients who are busy or who prefer to enjoy the creative process in a more artist-driven, “leave it to the artist” style.
